Palliser One has been reimagined as Sullivan Residences, a redevelopment transforming a downtown Calgary office tower into a modern residential community. The vision was to redefine the building through a narrative-led identity, creating a cohesive brand that connects history, place, and contemporary living.
Sullivan Residences is named in honour of John W. Sullivan, a navigator and astronomer whose work played a key role in the Palliser Expedition. His contributions helped map and define Western Canada, bringing structure and understanding to an uncharted landscape.
The logo is designed to be simple, memorable, and reflective of the brand's core values. It features a stylized leaf element that symbolizes the natural and nutritious ingredients used in the products. The circle in the logo represents the concept of recycling and eco-consciousness.
Inspired by this legacy, Sullivan is positioned as a modern urban sanctuary rooted in exploration. The brand reflects a sense of direction, clarity, and quiet confidence, designed for a new generation seeking intentional, design-forward living in the city.
Inspired by the Palliser Expedition mountain sketches, originally found in the journals, detailed reports, and observations, each floor and navigation point incorporates illustrative elements that reference the landscapes documented during the journey. This approach transforms wayfinding into moments of discovery throughout the building while maintaining a clear and intuitive system for residents.
